SECTION V REACTIVITY DATA


STABILITY: STABLE

CONDITIONS TO AVOID :Excessive heat, poor ventilation, corrosive atmospheres.

INCOMPATIBILTY (MATERIALS TO AVOID): Alkaline materials, strong acids, oxidizing materials.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOTION OR BYPRODUCTS: Normal products of incomplete comubustion.

HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: WILL NOT OCCUR. NONE


SECTION VI HEALTH HAZARD DATA


INHALATION HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: Breathing high concentrations of vapors or mists may cause irritation of the nose and throat. Signs of nervous system depression (drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination). Pre-existing respiratory conditions may be aggravated by exposure.

SKIN AND EYE CONTACT HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: This material is an eye and skin irritant. Contact with eyes may cause stinging, tearing, redness and swelling. Contact with skin may cause redness, burning, drying, and cracking.

SKIN APSORPORTION HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: Contact may result in skin absorption, but symptoms of toxicity are not anticipated by this route alone under normal use. Persons with pre-existing skin disorders may be susceptible to the effects of this material.

INGESTION HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: Ingestion of excessive amounts may cause irritation of the digestive tract. Signs of nervous system depression (fatigue, drowsiness, loss of coordination). This material can enter lungs during swallowing and cause lung inflammation.

HEALTH HAZARDS (ACUTE AND CHRONIC): Acute hazards-headache, drowsiness, nausea, defatting of skin. Also can cause eye irritation and temporary damage to eye tissue. Chronic hazards-may cause damage to Central Nervous System, respiratory system, lungs, eyes, gastrointestinal tract, liver, spleen, or kidneys.

CARCINOGENICITY: NTP? NO IARC MONOGRAPHS? NO OSHA REGULATED? NO

MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Aesthesia, respiratory tract irritation, dermatitis, defatting of skin, narcosis, nausea, vomiting, or anemia.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

  • INHALATION-REMOVE TO FRESH AIR
  • SKIN-WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER
  • INGESTION-DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING, DILUTE WITH LARGE VOLUME OF WATER.
  • CALL PHYSICIAN FOR ALL EMERGENCIES!

SECTION VII PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE


STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Provide adequate ventilation. Remove all possible sources of ignition. Absorb and dispose of using floor absorbent and non sparking tools.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: DISPOSE OF IN ACORDANCE WITH FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING: Store in cool dry place away from sparks and open flame. Outside or detached storage is preferable. Inside storage should be in a standard flammable liquid storage room or cabinet. Keep closures tight and upright to prevent leakage. Keep container closed when not in use. Do not reuse container. Store in a well ventilated area.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Metal containers must be grounded when transferring material from one container to another.
Avoid contact with material when possible.

ALL EMPLOYEES INVOLVED WITH THIS PRODUCT SHOULD RECEIVE TRAINING RELATIVE TO OSHA STANDARDS.


SECTION VIII CONTROL MEASURES


RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Use NIOSH approved respirators.

VENTILATION: Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust) ventilation in order to maintain airborne concentration below the established exposure limits.

PROTECTIVE GLOVES: The use of gloves is advised to prevent skin contact.

EYE PROTECTION: Approved eye protection to safeguard against potential eye contact, irritation, or injury is recommended.

OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHING OR EQUIPMENT: It is suggested that a source of clean water be available in the work area for flushing eyes and skin. Impervious clothing should be worn as needed.

WORK/HYGIENIC PRACTICES: Wash hands before eating or using washroom. Smoke only in designed smoking areas.
